Ocean Legacy Foundation (OLF), the Canadian non-profit organization that develops and implements worldwide plastic pollution response programs, announced that its Co-Founder and Executive Director Chloé Dubois was named to Canada’s Clean16 in the primary resources category. Chloé was selected from an initial pool of over 1,000 nominees and was chosen after screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors.
“It’s an honor to receive this award. We’ve been working hard to end the plastic pollution crisis and our teams and partners have collectively cleaned around 2,000 km of coastline, removing over three million pounds of plastic pollution and diverting more than two million pounds of waste away from landfills and marine environments,” said Chloé Dubois, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Ocean Legacy Foundation.
The Clean50 individual awards are 50 individuals or small teams selected from 16 categories and are based on accomplishments delivered over the prior two years. The leader in each of the 16 categories is declared to be part of the Clean16, depicting those 16 individual Honourees as the top contributor in each of their respective categories.

Ocean Legacy Foundation works with scientists, government, non-profits, artists, industries and concerned citizens to catalyze innovative solutions to combat plastic pollution. The organization has created tools for communities around the world to help with cleanup and the management of post-consumer plastic by transforming it into a valuable resource.

These efforts have launched Ocean Legacy Foundation as an international leader in plastic pollution reduction, collection and processing, showcasing successful methods in stimulating the plastic circular economy across seven formal depots. The program also provides a prolific online education academy in three languages, whilst has created over 900 meaningful employment opportunities, and has spread to Costa Rica, Antarctica, Mexico, Panama, USA, South Korea, and Guatemala,” said Pitchford.
