Orange County, located in Central Florida and home to world-renowned tourism destination Orlando, and Orange County Utilities Solid Waste Division announce the release of a Request for Information (RFI) seeking input into the planned release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Public-Private-Partnership for designing, constructing and operating a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

Orange County has a long history of support for recycling that began in 1990, when the previous MRF began operations. The area has since experienced tremendous economic growth (ranking seventh in the U.S.) that is also projected to grow by a 1,000 new residents each week and, in 2018, drew a record 75 million visitors.

“We encourage and welcome participation by processors, equipment manufacturers, end market representatives and other industry experts to aid Orange County in delivering to its residents and the surrounding region an advanced and cost-effective recycling facility,” said David Gregory, manager of the Solid Waste Division for Orange County Utilities.
