TerraCycle, a New Jersey-based, international recycling company that specializes in recycling the unrecyclable has announced its admittance into the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP). TerraCycle will be joining the organization at the Supplier Partnership’s 2nd Quarter Meeting of 2019 which is being held April 23-24 at Heritage Group’s corporate campus in Indianapolis, IN.

The Suppliers Partnership was established with the purpose of advancing environmental sustainability through the automotive supply chain. SP functions as a forum for global automotive manufacturers, their large and small suppliers, the US EPA and other government entities from around the world to meet and address focus issues. These include: biodiversity preservation, energy-efficiency, health, safety, water usage, and the use of both eco-friendly materials and environmentally-sound supply chain management. Membership is open to companies that supply goods or services to an automotive manufacturer or parts supplier.

“We’re proud to welcome TerraCycle to the Supplier Partnership. TerraCycle is a business with an Earth-friendly mission that dovetails nicely with the Suppliers Partnership’s sustainability initiatives,” said Kellen Mahoney, Program Director of the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment. “We look forward to working with TerraCycle to find new, innovative ways to further preserve our natural resources.”

SP membership not only helps companies meet their economic goals by facilitating a collaborative working relationship between the private and public sectors but also aids them in achieving their ambition of environmental preservation. The engagement of the US EPA makes this collaboration even more unique since members are provided with topics for special projects, information, approaches, and tools to realize common environmental objectives.

This forum and common purpose allows SP to continually identify new, innovative, and more environmentally sustainable ways to enhance the competitiveness of the automobile industry through the global supply chain. Recently, this purpose was demonstrated when SP participated in the US Workshop of the G7 Alliance on Resource Efficiency that was hosted by US EPA.
