NWRA has launched its 2017 Awards program. The program celebrates the innovation and achievements of future and current members of the waste and recycling industry. Last year, NWRA received over 1,000 applications. All award winners will be announced at the NWRA Awards Breakfast at WasteExpo. . The deadline for all awards is December 15.

Driver of the Year

Each year, NWRA awards the safest drivers in the industry. Over 900 drivers were nominated for the honor last year. We have streamlined our applicationprocess to make it easier to nominate your best. This year there are nine different categories. Driver of the Year nominees will receive a leather jacket, a plaque and a $1,000 prize. All Nominees will receive a certificate of achievement.

Operator of the Year

For the first time, NWRA will honor the safest, most industrious post-collection worker from either a MRF, landfill or transfer station. Operator of the Year nominees will receive a leather jacket, a plaque and a $1,000 prize. All Nominees will receive a certificate of achievement.

Hall of Fame

NWRA’s Hall of Fame Award is the preeminent industry recognition. The award is presented annually to select industry visionaries and icons that have created an enduring legacy through their inspirational leadership, core values and significant contributions. The 2017 inductees will join 187 inductees from 1986-2016 who helped guide, build and transform the industry into what it is today.

Women’s Council Academic Scholarship
The Women’s Council Scholarship was established in 2007 to assist individuals in their pursuit of a productive career in the environmental industry. Since then, the Women’s Council has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships. This year the Women’s Council will once again award three $5,000 scholarships. This scholarship is open to both NWRA members and their dependents. Male and female applicants are welcome.
