The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) will hold its 2nd Fall Classic Poker Tournament on November 17 at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center in The Woodlands, TX. The Poker Tournament will conclude the 2016 EREF Fall Classic & Networking Event which will take place November 16 and 17 at The Golf Trails of The Woodlands. The EREF Poker Tournament provides opportunities to connect with key leaders and decision makers in the waste industry, as well as support EREF’s mission to further scientific research for sustainable waste management practices.

Registration is required to play in the tournament and a $500 donation is encouraged. Registration includes food, drinks and a player’s seat with chips. Tournament format is Texas Hold ‘Em and poker chips have no cash value. The Poker Tournament is organized with a professional manager and dealers who control the betting levels, or blinds based on the pace of play, that allow the tournament to end within three hours. For those who are eliminated from the tournament, rebuys will be allowed for a set period of time. “The EREF Poker Tournament was great,” said Christopher Logan, Director of National Accounts – Solid Waste for Clean Energy and 3rd place winner of the 2015 Poker Tournament. “It was fast-paced, exciting and fun. I’m all in.”

Players who aren’t eliminated will make it to the final round sponsored by Sonrai Systems. Prizes will be awarded to the top three players, including an all-expense paid trip for the first place winner and free registrations to the 2017 EREF Fall Classic & Networking Event for the second and third place winners. Eliminated players will have the opportunity to play for fun (with no money) outside the tournament. There will be an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, music and lots of networking and fun! Spectators are welcome free of charge, but are asked to register in advance. EREF would like to thank Platinum Sponsor, Sonrai Systems, for supporting the event. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. E-mail [email protected] for more details.
